John Ardila - lead vocals, nylon and electric guitars
Born in Houston, Texas and growing up in San Francisco and Oakland California, John was raised on a smorgasbord of ethnic as well as mainstream music. John's main influences are Journey, Santana, Marvin Gaye, Chicago Transit Authority and any kind of California jazz. Newer artistic influences include Dave Matthews, Malford Milligan & Storyville, Acoustic Alchemy and Ozomatli.
John has played guitar, bass and/or lead vocals in a number of stylistically different groups in the Houston and Austin area. Most notably, Atlantis, David Spann Group, Powertrip, Voodoo Pistons, Circle of Stone, No Strings Attached; and has shared the stage with National touring acts Robin Trower, Pat Travers and Night Ranger.
John has risen to the challenge of being the front-man as songwriter and lead singer of Acústyka.
John feels like he has finally found his true home in this group and delivers his vocals and guitar work with a passion and intensity that can only be described as love.
